Vent Types

Available in most North American species, including Red Oak, Eastern White Oak, Eastern Maple, Hickory, Birch, Madronne, Walnut, Oregon White Oak and Western Bigleaf Maple, all wood floor vents are handmade – nothing but wood, glue and traditional joinery required. Start your order process by determining your profile: Which Vent to Get, and then use our sizing chart to ensure it fits perfectly.

Flushmount, pre-framed

Framed mount vents blend seamlessly with your new hardwood floors. Each vent is 3/4” thick and has a removable insert set into a mitered 1.75” frame. It’s intended to be installed and finished along with the flooring installation, but can be cut in afterward, if necessary.

Flushmount, insert only

A flush mount vent without the frame can be cut into the floor as is, or used as a replacement for an existing framed flush mount vent.

Retro

Retro style vents are perfect for carpet, tile or a simple upgrade to your metal grilles. Retros have a 1” rounded lip on every side that sits on top of the existing floor.

Toe Kicks

We make our wood toe kick vents to work naturally with cabinetry. Our standard design accommodates a 3 x 12” duct opening with a 1” rounded lip on both ends.

Cold Air Returns

Custom-designed with your project’s specific dimensions in mind. Our standard cold air return has a grid of 3/8” wood strips and ¾” X 1 ½” holes. Styles include flush mount with frame, flush mount with no frame, and retro. Not sure which is perfect for you? Check out our style guide.

We are the new home of Storch Woodworking's heat registers.

For years, we have sourced heat registers to match our flooring from Joanne Storch at Storch Woodworking. Joanne honed these registers over 30 years to make them strong, efficient and gorgeous. We love their clean, elegant design and their high-quality, metal-free construction. Our customers love the generous air flow and the insert-and-frame system that allows the register to sit flush with the floor.

So, we got anxious when she told us she was retiring. Where were we going to get these beautiful wood vents now? We didn't want to lose this great product.

After more conversation with Joanne, we learned that she wanted to find someone to train to continue her legacy. We were ecstatic when she agreed to pass this product on to us.

After many hours training with Joanne, we're excited to be carrying on her tradition of handmade heat registers, crafted right here in the Zena Forest. We're going to make you proud, Joanne!
