PDX Concourse B: A New Gateway Into The Zena Forest!

Whether you are traveling in or out of the recently renovated Concourse B at the Portland Airport, you’ll have no choice but to take notice of the stunning new geometrical woodwork cladding the walls. This beautiful design was created by ZGF Architects, the installation was masterfully completed by Custom Source Woodworking, and the finished product exceeded all our expectations. It is with extreme pride, that we can say Zena Forest Products supplied all the lumber for this project directly from the local Willamette Valley!

While airport architecture has always been diverse, we’ve been seeing more distinctive themes throughout the globe, embracing the local culture and spirit of the destination. What more embodies the essence of Portland than local, sustainable, and of course, nature!? The natural features combined with a modern contemporary design elevate the beauty of the Oregon white oak and allows its inherent character to shine.

The minute detail put into each cut is staggering to think about, (thankfully someone paid attention in geometry, lol)! In all seriousness, this is a true accomplishment and we are very proud to have been a part of something that will be enjoyed by so many people over the years.

So the next time you find yourself traveling to/from PDX airport, take a moment to enjoy what your local forest and artists have produced with Oregon and Washington residents in mind.
